"Sense Perception" by Tim Olson

Un Grito Gallery is pleased to host Tim Olson and his work in a solo exhibition for Contemporary Art Month.

“Sense Perception is a collection of previously undisplayed works created largely during the time of the pandemic. The name came from a scrap of dictionary that I was preparing for a collage/assemblage piece. I thought the phrase reflected well on how I feel about making art. For instance, I often tell people that, for me, being able to draw has as much to do with practiced muscle memory, as understanding things like perspective and shades and values, etc. I enjoy the act of drawing. Pulling a pencil or a piece of charcoal across a paper feels good. Then there are the aspects of the imagery, and collages and found parts of my work. It’s a way of existing in the world.”
