Space C7, in association with SAGE Studio and Contemporary Art Month, is proud to present an inspiring group show showcasing the wide-ranging talents of SAGE Studio artists.
“The Art Mob’s Out Tonight,” a group show of SAGE Studio artists featuring the work of Montrel Beverly, Anthony Coleman, Emily Dodson, Yesenia Duran, Rick Fleming, Lewis Foster, Bayaht Ham, Rodrigo Hernandez, Evan Herrera, Zachary Robey, Gav Sears, Jackson Sutton, David Sulak, Woodley White, Jennifer Williams.
SAGE (Supporting Artistic Growth and Entrepreneurship) is a non-profit studio and gallery space in east Austin that provides artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities the materials, space, and support to produce, exhibit, and sell their artwork. Their mission is to nurture and amplify the voices of artists with disabilities, so that they may meaningfully engage with the social, economic, and creative life of the community. Their artists are both highly talented and dedicated to their craft. SAGE is hot on the heels of a successful showing at the Outsider Art Fair in New York City where several of their artists were celebrated alongside the masters of Outsider art worldwide. From the highly detailed pipe cleaner sculptures of Mr. Clowney to the whimsical portraits of Rick Fleming and everything in between, art-lovers will be treated to an exhibit guaranteed to excite and inspire.
This show opens on Saturday, March 11, is up through May, and will hit its’ crescendo on Friday, March 31st when we celebrate SAGE’s artists as part of the Contemporary Art Month’s Closing Ceremonies. This promises to be a very special night as several of the artists will be in attendance and will be signing limited edition posters. In addition, the night will feature the CAMMIE AWARDS, grant presentations, music by DJ Novasoul, and adult libations provided by Dorcol Distilling + Brewing Company and Nina Hassele.
