About this event
PechaKucha is a 20 image x 20-second arts and culture series. We host speakers who share their passions in a unique format: At each event, a group of presenters each get exactly 20 images, and each image advances automatically every 20 seconds, for a total time of 6 minutes and 40 seconds.
We will be hosting this event safely outdoors at the San Antonio Botanical Garden’s Betty Kelso Center.
Our Vol. 40 lineup is:
Maeve Bassett, Applied Ethnobotanist
Jennifer Hwa Dobbertin, Best Quality Daughter

Organizer of PechaKucha San Antonio Presents Vol. 40
PechaKucha (Japanese for "chit chat") was started in Tokyo in 2003 by Klein Dytham architecture "as an event for young designers to meet, network, and show their work in public". It has now spread to over 1100 cities. When it first came to San Antonio in February of 2011, there were a little over 200 cities officially participating. PechaKucha events usually have between 6 and 11 participants; in San Antonio, we usually have 6. We strive for a diverse cross-section of our local community and our mission is simple: to showcase and celebrate the great people who live and work in San Antonio.
