Patrick Kikut "Bringing It All Back Home-Remastered" Closing ceremonies and informal artist talk.

  • Space C7 2450 Roosevelt Avenue San Antonio, TX 78210 United States (map)

Space C7 is proud to announce the closing ceremonies for our current exhibit, Bringing It All Back Home-Remastered, featuring a selection of work from the studio of Santa Fe artist, Patrick Kikut.  Kikut earned his BFA from the University of Colorado and his MFA from the University of Montana. He was Professor of Art for over thirty years most recently at the University of Wyoming where he taught for seventeen years before retiring in 2022 to focus on his studio work.

Inspired by the “Expedition Artists” of the 1800’s, Kikut’s work focuses on the miles and miles of landscapes in between the National Parks and forests of the West where he studies the push and pull of our ever-encroaching culture and the forces of nature.  This exhibit is a survey of his work created in the last fifteen years.  This exhibit features artwork from several varied series inspired by his extensive travel throughout the West including his stint as Lead Artist for the Sesquicentennial Colorado River Exploring Expedition (SCREE).   On view is a series of Kachinas inspired by their many appearances on billboards along Interstate 40, as well as a series inspired by climate change and field drawings by Frederick Church in the late 1800s.

Space C7 has been honored to be presenting this exhibition and we hope you will come join us to celebrate Kikut’s work while building community through the arts right here on the Southside of San Antonio.

Space C7 is open Monday-Saturday, 1:00pm-6:00pm or by appointment.
