Beginning Friday, March 11, 2022 Clamp Light Studios & Gallery and Bright Coffee will host the opening of HERE AND THERE, a two-venue juried exhibition featuring Texas artists. The opening reception will be Friday, March 11, 6pm – 9pm at both venues, located at 1704 Blanco Road and 1705 Blanco Road. The group exhibition features a wide range of paintings, drawings, sculpture, jewelry, and mixed-media works by artists from San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, Denton, San Marcos, Bastrop, and Seguin. Artists include Kristina Williams Berrier, Abigail Billingsley, Kim Bishop, Kat Cadena, Mystikal Casares, Anette Cavazos, Kwanzaa Edwards, Albert Gonzales, Maria Haag, Madeline Herrera, Mayra Huerta, Claire Kennedy, Kevin Lopez, Donovan Martinez, Israel Medina, Venessa Monokian, Jorge Palacios, Daniela Oliver de Portillo, Alex Renbarger, Jacob Spacek, Mauro de la Tierra, Joshua Yurcheshen, Dongyi Wu.
About the spaces: Established in 2009, Clamp Light Artist Studios & Gallery has been committed to supporting local contemporary artists in South Texas. Clamp Light functions as both a studio space for resident artists and a gallery space for monthly exhibitions. Artists work in a variety of media including installation, sculpture, painting, photography, performance, and new media. Gallery Hours are Tuesdays & Thursday, 9am to 2pm. Bright Coffee functions as a coffee shop during the day and an event space – for classes and swing sessions – by night. In addition, it is also adorned with blank wall spaces with the intention to host regular art exhibitions. The venue is the brainchild of the couple Hana Buck and Rolando Almaraz.
