Dock Space Gallery (Annex) Featuring Artists Joan Frederick, Sabra Booth, Daniela Oliver de Portillo

  • Dock Space Gallery Annex 107 Lone Star Boulevard San Antonio, TX, 78204 United States (map)

Joan Frederick is an artist who comments on today's world, relationships, the environment and the nature of our social order. She uses mixed media, light, installation and traditional materials primarily for light and photo-based sculptures but also works with minimalism and even “painterly” art and photography.

Sabra Booth’s artwork offers interpretative observations of nature, while addressing complex ecological issues. Her prints on translucent Japanese kōzo paper prompts reflection on the local flora and prehistoric peoples whose descendants are an important part of the cultural diversity in San Antonio today.

Daniela Oliver de Portillo’s work explores the constant struggle between the true self and the one instilled to us by popular culture, media, and family ties. The tension born out of a sense of duality imposed by the constraints of duty and yearning for freedom and the fear of what that freedom would actually mean.

Opening Reception is Saturday, March 9th from 6-9 pm during the Second Saturday Artwalk in the Lone Star Art District. Closing Reception will be Saturday, April 13th. The gallery is open by appointment. Call Bill FitzGibbons at 210-723-3048 to view outside of the reception times.
