Taking care of ourselves is absolutely essential if we are going to care for our community and be the change makers our world needs us to be.

So, on International Women’s Day, March 8, we encourage you to be especially kind to yourself. That will mean different things to different people. But if you are energized by art, yoga, massage, beauty treatments, games, music and the company of intelligent, compassionate (and fun!) people, join us for the first ever Feminist Friday at San Antonio’s Blue Star Arts Complex. Many of the Blue Star’s gallery spaces will be open between 5-9pm for private viewings of Contemporary Art Month exhibitions. Visit at your leisure and enjoy as many free experiences along the way as you like. How about a sound bath or reiki session surrounded by provocative art? Afterwards you might stop by Twirl for a trim so you look as good as you feel. Or perhaps you’d like to show off your ‘sexpertise’ (and win prizes) at a round of sex trivia in Halcyon before catching up on the exploits of Bad Bunny at Slab Cinema? Need a ‘self-care spell kit’ to take home with you? Artist Audrya Flores has got you covered. The options are many and the choice is yours. (Ah choice. Remember that?)
